Broad Reach Engineering Company Acquired by Moog, Inc.
TEMPE, AZ (January 2, 2013) – Broad Reach Engineering Company is excited to announce its acquisition by Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B). The acquisition was announced on January 2, 2013. Broad Reach is a leading designer and manufacturer of spaceflight electronics and software for aerospace, scientific, commercial and military missions. It also provides ground testing, launch and on-orbit operations.
The organization and operation of Broad Reach will not change. 100% of Broad Reach employees were retained post-acquisition. Broad Reach Chief Executive, Chris McCormick, is now a Vice President of Moog’s Space and Defense Group. Mohinder “Pala” Manhas, will continue to manage Moog Broad Reach as General Manager.
Broad Reach space avionics and software products represent a different but complimentary and proven product line to Moog space products. “The acquisition of Broad Reach brings several very strong products to our space portfolio, as well as an experienced team of individuals,” said Jay Hennig, President of Moog’s Space and Defense Group. “Their engineering team brings extensive spaceflight heritage, industry expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to Moog.
